About Us
We live in the village of Villanueva de Algaidas in the province of Malaga. My name is Roger Hiscock and I live with my wife Irene.
We moved here from the UK in September 2001 and have no intention of returning. We love the lifestyle and the people here.
When we moved to Spain we purchased our house through an Estate Agent who advertised on the web. After contacting two of them we were shown many houses, some of which we would not even consider habitable and others which were suitable and pleasant. The house we live in was the first one we saw on the second day and we made our minds up to buy it. It was then that some of the tricks which certain agents use were brought into play to increase the price. Being green at the time we actually paid more than the original asking price although we are still happy with the price we got the property for. Since then we have heard many stories from different people who have bought in the area and some definite horror stories.
This web page would not exist except that some of the local Spanish reesidents approached me to see whether I could find buyers for their properties. They really do not wish to use conventional estate agents where they are expected to accept the lowest price whilst they are aware that the purchaser is being pushed to pay the highest with the agent creaming off the profit.
More recently we have been asked to assist where people have accommodation to let either as Bed and Breakfast or as holiday rental apartments or villas. Hence we now have a Holiday Lettings section.
We are available to assist both parties, but at the same time we allow you to negotiate directly if that is what you wish to do.
